Villara’s 75th anniversary was coming up, and they were wanting a special logo to use on internal communications and branding materials. I worked with the Marketing team and the company’s president in order to develop this design. After a couple rounds of revisions, we landed on a simple design that features an infinity symbol, meant to represent the longevity of the company.
We wanted to create a fun calendar that the employees could use, and that could be handed out to customers. The calendar needed to fit in with Villara’s other branding, have a clean and professional look, and show off all of the cool building projects Villara has worked on. Some older iterations featured different photo themes, such as vintage photos and product photos, but we felt these focused too much on the past, and not on the future success of the brand.
With policies and mandates constantly changing for COVID-19, Villara needed many different internal communications pieces to explain their policies to their employees. We created a poster that could be hung up around the office, a letter with more detailed info to be sent out to everyone, and a mascot to use across various channels. It was important for these communications to have a fun and non-scary look to them, but to also come across as professional and scientific, so that the employees could feel confident and relaxed that the proper measures were being taken.
I created this custom shirt for the fleet maintenance team. They required a custom shirt to help differentiate their team from the rest of the builders and construction workers, but that still followed safety guidelines (bright color, long sleeves, etc.). This project involved working with the fleet maintenance team manager and the purchasing department to ensure that the shirt was produced correctly and on time.
Villara was looking for a way to streamline the process of requesting graphics or marketing materials. Employees would often walk over to the marketing and design department to verbally request items, which resulted in a project load that was unpredictable and made it easier for things to slip through the cracks. To solve this, I began creating a request form. This form could be filled out on the computer, or, could be printed out and handed to us physically. This would provide the team with a base line of information to get each project started, and, each assignment could be filtered through the proper chain of command. We went through many versions of this until we all agreed on the final version.
Since Villara installs and manages solar panels for commercial and private homes, they were starting up a solar referral program. This program was so that employees could refer customers to Villara, and in return, they would receive a bonus. For this project, we needed to make posters and flyers so that the employees could be reminded of the program.
Villara had an amazing training program called the New Start program. This serviced people who had recently left incarceration, and trained them in practical skills along with giving general support for re-entering the community, such as helping them secure a safe place to live, furniture, and transportation. These people were then employed by Villara and on their own free time were also responsible for completing the rigorous training program. To reward people who completed the program, a ceremony was held and I created a certificate to hand out to everyone.
Villara needed a presentation for their sales and marketing teams. This presentation was meant to give a brief overview of their new product, the VillaGrid, in a simple presentation format.
